Dr Sritharan Vellasamy
Founder, WordLabs Global
Dr Sritharan Vellasamy grew up in a government flat in Kuala Lumpur that housed eleven people across 450 square feet.
He is the founder of WordLabs, a media and research company he started in 2005 with a secondhand MacBook, a borrowed desk and a declaration over drinks that he would somehow publish a magazine by the following month. He did.

WHAT HE'S BUILT
Over the following two decades, WordLabs produced more than 700 publications for corporations, government bodies and international clients – including an in-flight magazine for a regional airline he won mid-pitch by pointing out that being small hadn't stopped either of them from delivering.
He completed a law degree while building his company – a degree he never needed, failed the final paper twice, and passed on the third attempt. He later earned a PhD, driven less by necessity than by a refusal to leave things unfinished.
WHY HE WROTE THIS BOOK
This is his first personal book. He did not plan to write it, much as he did not plan to go to Tibet. Both happened anyway.
